SP (Sozialdemokratische Partei der Schweiz)
PS (Parti socialiste suisse)
PS (Partito socialista svizzero)
(Social-Democratic Party of Switzerland /
Swiss Socialist Party)
The Socialist Party is currently the
second-biggest party in Switzerland, having 52 seats in the 200-seat lower
chamber of the Swiss Parliament (Nationalrat = National Council). Two SP members
are ministers in the federal government (Bundesrat = Federal Council). The party
has a social democratic program.

In the German-speaking part the logo contains a red acute accent, the party
abbreviation (in black) and the party name (in black) on a white field [1]. This
logo is also used, although rarely, on square flags [2].

The French-speaking part uses a different logo incorporating the
rose-in-the-fist [1], that is or has been used by a lot of socialist parties.
I have found two variants of the flag: one being red with the
rose-in-the-fist at the hoist and the inscription "Parti Socialiste" (in
black) [3][4][5][6]; the other one also red with the rose-in-the-fist at the
hoist and the letters "P" and "S" in the fly (in white) [7].

I have found several local flags of the Socialist Party:

1. The flag of the Geneva section. This is white and shows the section logo
in the center. The logo consists of three red circles with (from left) a white
rose-in-the-fist, the letter "p" and the letter "s"; under the circles the black
inscription "les socialistes" (the socialists).

2. The
historical flag of the Wattenwil section (canton Bern), founded in 1913. This
flag is square, red, with silver fringe, and contains several inscriptions
(in white):
SOZ.DEM.PARTEI
WATTENWIL
1913
VEREINIGT SIND WIR
STARK
(SOC.DEM.PARTY
WATTENWIL
1913
UNITED WE ARE
STRONG)

3. The historical
flag of the Bern-Nord section. This flag is square, red, with a golden
fringe. The reverse (I have no info on the obverse) shows an historical party
symbol (yellow circle with yellow stylized letters "SPS" for "Sozialdemokratische
Partei der Schweiz" = "Social Democratic Party of Switzerland") in the canton
and the black inscription "BERN-NORD" in the bottom.
